Hi, my name is Kelly. I’m originally from Charleston, SC but now reside in Charlotte, NC. I have two kids who are my heartbeats. I have a son who plays football and a daughter who plays basketball. In my spare time when I’m not running around with the kids and dealing with sports, I love to travel. I’m so excited to be a part of NHBH!
Over the years, I’ve been afforded the opportunity to work with some of the most amazing people who have shaped the way I think and look at the world. I’ve helped them but not as much as they’ve helped me. The lessons they taught me, not about them, but about myself, are priceless. I’ve watched people who’ve been served the unluckiest hand in life Triumph, and I believe you can too. With determination, a made-up mind, and faith, change is possible.
Counseling can be as simple as a chat about how you are doing and where you would like to be in life. People often experience distress resulting from an at-times difficult and unpredictable world. A common problem for many people stems from feelings of dissatisfaction with their present circumstances. Change may be intimidating, but it’s not impossible – and never too late!
I believe that everyone has the capacity to create change and gain skills toward aligning their behavior with their values. I am a mental health counselor with years of experience working with varied populations. I’ve worked with individuals and groups comprised of diverse socioeconomic, cultural, and ethnic backgrounds. I’m professionally trained and have worked extensively with those suffering from addiction and chronic illness.
I’ve maintained a successful practice as a Natural Therapeutic Specialist and Ayurvedic Practitioner, serving hundreds of clients over the past 20 years. I am the co-founder of Life In Balance Ayurvedic Rejuvenation Center on Vashon Island, near Seattle. My work focuses on the integral connection between the body, mind and emotions. In the last 10 years, I’ve integrated EFT(Emotional Freedom Techniques) into my practice, finding it most effectively facilitates physical and emotional healing by getting at the deep emotional roots of the issue.
